Laborers (Free Advice for Church Planters)

harvesters

Jesus said that the fields are white with harvest and that we should pray for “laborers”.  Make no mistake about it.  Planting a church is just plain hard work.  Even with God’s blessing and direction, it’s still hard work.

Many times I meet church planters that feel that they somehow must have missed God because their current assignment is so hard.

The truth is, church planting is the hardest of all ministerial roles because it usually involves such little outside support.  Church planters are typically on their own financially, emotionally and spiritually.  (Don’t get me wrong, church planters do receive outside help but it’s almost always from a far.)

There’s no wonder why church planting has always been called the extreme sport of the church world.

Church planters, don’t give up.  It’s hard but so very worth it.
